Comment Policy

We’ve set up this blog to discuss topics important to Western and reflect on news that impacts our agency and our customers. We encourage your comments—your ideas, questions and thoughts are important to ensure Western starts out with its best foot forward in this new program.

We want to publish your comments, but we expect conversations to follow the conventions of polite discourse. Therefore, sign in and add your comments following the basic ground rules:

  • Post only topic-related feedback. Stick to the conversation at hand or add a general question under the Discussion.
  • Don’t use personal attacks. It’s OK to disagree with co-workers’ positions on a business-related issue, but it’s not OK to attack their character.
  • Refrain from using abusive comments or foul language. Malicious responses that insult others based on race, gender, religion, nationality, age, disability or sexual preference will not be allowed.

We don’t edit comments. Please ensure that your comment follows the rules, otherwise it will be removed.

Reporters are asked to send questions to the Western’s Public Affairs Office through their normal channels and to refrain from submitting questions here as comments. Reporter questions will not be posted.

We recognize that the Web is a 24/7 medium and your comments are welcome at any time. However, given the need to manage Federal resources, moderating and posting of comments will generally occur during regular business hours Monday through Friday, Mountain Time. Comments submitted after hours or on weekends will be read and posted as early as possible the next business day.

To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include phone numbers or email addresses in the body of your comment.

Thank you for taking the time to read this comment policy. We encourage your participation in our discussion and look forward to an active exchange of ideas.
